Alice (2007 film)

This is an article on a film that has been talked about for 7 years with no sign of going into production - there has been no news in almost two years now. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball: unless this film actually gets made, which does not look likely at this stage, it should not have an article. Rje 15:11, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep This is not "Wiki of movies which have actually been made." Many books go into Development hell for extended periods before the movie comes out. IMDB.com [1] and the New York Times [2] still list it as a 2007 release. Anything which has multiple independent reliable sources with susbstantial coverage satisfies WP:N and WP:ATT and is deserving of an article. It seems like originasl research for editors here to determine the project is cancelled because they have not seen news items in 2 years. A projected 40 million dollar picture with major talent such as Gellar signed to do it and major studio participation can be notable even if it never gets made, if it has the multiple independent sources with sunstantial coverage that this one has. Very often, the content of articles of films that never get made is underwhelming. If this film never gets made, then there would be stagnant growth of content in its article. If no content will ever be added, then it's best to merge it to the source material. Try a more authoritative Google search, since Google hits will obviously spur discussion about the film on blogs and message boards. A Google News Archive Search only records 27 actual hits, under the assumption that a proper headline would note that the film is based on American McGee's Alice. Additionally, IMDb is not a reliable source at all in terms of pre-release news. Even if you're citing it, you should notice that the film's status at IMDb is marked as "Unknown". Also, the listing at New York Times does not actually mention anything about the film's production. Delete unless verifiable up-to-date information of this movie being in production can be provided. It is kind of like having a separate article for Terry Gilliam's Good Omens (2007). It does not need it's own article just yet as the fact that it has been optioned by a studio is mentioned in the American_McGee's_Alice article. Coder Keitaro 22:14, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Keep or Merge Until this movie enters production it should be merged with the video game. However the info should not be deleted from Wikipedia as it is very notable.Trey 04:19, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
